Signing Santa, American School for the Deaf students to visit Westfarms
Students of the American School for the Deaf will experience the first signing picture-in-picture feature on Ice Age: Continental Drift soon to be released. The students will also be invited to walk through the multi-sensory Ice Palace, be entertained by performers and visit and sign with Santa in American Sign Language. Signing Santa will remain on site from 1 to 8 p.m. to welcome all shoppers, both hearing and deaf/hard-of-hearing.
This holiday season the center's Ice Palace will feature footage from Ice Age: Continental Drift, debuting Dec. 11 on DVD and Blu-ray. The Signing Santa Day celebrates the Blu-ray feature offering sign-language interpretation – a first for a feature film – by deaf actors Sean Berdy, star of ABC Family's "Switched at Birth," and stage and film actress Amber Zion.
