$5,000 Grant to Intensive Education Academy
The Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving, Inc. has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Intensive Education Academy, Inc., a West Hartford School founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Chambery, a private, non-sectarian special education facility for children with special needs, located at 840 North Main Street, West Hartford, CT.
Head of School Jill O'Donnell said that through this grant and technology initiative, the Intensive Education Academy Inc. has been able to replace student computers, upgrading standard and non-standard software. Computers need to run larger software programs quickly and recent software downloads such as 'Kurzweil' and 'Bookshare' are some of the available technology tools for special education students.
Since 2004, the Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving, Inc. has been supporting the Intensive Education Academy and in 2011 a similar grant was awarded for the language program, "Sopris West: Language!" introduced to the school in 2010.
Wireless Zone Foundation for Giving, Inc. is a charitable organization and is a federally registered trademark of Automotive Technologies, Inc.
