Relay for Life kicks-off 2013 event, celebrates victories over cancer
WEST HARTFORD - The celebrations of victories over cancer and other inspirational stories inspired volunteers for Relay for Life West Hartford at its kick off event recently.
New team captains, team members, local business sponsors welcomed new event co-chairs, Mike Isko and Stephanie Sokolowski, for the annual fundraiser – a worldwide phenomena.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of West Hartford recently held a kick-off event at Fleming's restaurant, launching its new season of awareness and fundraising.
Guests enjoyed an inspirational program celebrating the victories achieved over cancer, recognizing the survivors and caregivers and reminding everyone about the vital importance of continuing to support this important annual event.

West Hartford Relay for Life will take place on June 1 at Northwest Catholic High School, West Hartford. Last year more than 500 people participated, raising more than $140,000 for research. Relay for Life is the primary fundraising and community action engine of the American Cancer Society.
