'Innervisions - The Extraordinary Life of Stevie Wonder' at USJ
WEST HARTFORD– The University of Saint Joseph recently presented the ninth season of its Arts Integration and Multiple Intelligences Program culminating with "Innervisions - The Extraordinary Life of Stevie Wonder."
This spirited dance performance included original choreography, colorful costumes and scenery celebrating Stevie Wonder's music, his social activism, the way he has used his art to create social change, and his vision of a world where people overcome differences to live in harmony. Pictured here is the energetic opening number featuring all show participants on stage in The Bruyette Athenaeum's Hoffman Auditorium.
The performance was directed and choreographed by Kay Gayner of the National Dance Institute (NDI) in New York City and conceived by Oscar and Emmy Award winner Jacques d'Amboise H'03 who serves as artist-in-residence. AIMI is unmatched by other summer arts opportunities in combining both instruction and show preparation within a short time frame; 48 children and 35 graduate students from USJ's School of Education participated in the program.
