Resident honored as a Connecticut "Women of FIRE"

Law firm McCarter & English LLP is pleased to announce that Hartford-based partner Jane K. Warren has been selected as a 2012 "Women of FIRE" honoree by the weekly publication The Commercial Record.  Warren lives in West Hartford with her husband, Steve, and their two children..

The annual award program recognizes and celebrates the "best and brightest women" in the Connecticut FIRE (Finance, Insurance and Real Estate) sectors.

"Throughout her career as a top redevelopment and environmental attorney, Jane has taken on many leadership roles," said Eric E. Grondahl, managing partner of McCarter's Hartford office.  "From her superior relationships with clients, to her role on our Women's Initiative Steering Committee, to the numerous professional and community organizations in which she is active, Jane has always been in the forefront and she is an invaluable member of our firm.  It is with great pleasure that we congratulate her on this well-deserved honor."

Warren represents buyers and sellers of contaminated property in allocating environmental liability, and lends her expertise in environmental issues to corporate and real estate transactions of every size and nature.  She also successfully guides property owners through the challenging regulatory landscape related to wetlands and coastal development, and has established a substantial expertise on Army Corps issues.

In addition, Warren was recently appointed to a Task Force by the CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to conduct a comprehensive evaluation and transformation of Connecticut's cleanup laws, and is currently drafting legislation to implement the Task Force's recommendations.

In the community, Warren has been an active member of the Junior League of Hartford since 2000 and also dedicates a substantial amount of her time to Rebuilding Together, an organization that renovates homes for elderly, disabled, and low-income individuals.
